
I believe it's a much simpler game, though I'm not very familiar with it. It is kind of a spin-off, focusing on the colonial times and especially American history. Beyond the Sword includes all content from Warlords, so you don't need to install Warlords at all.Ĭolonization is another game entirely (though based on Civ4 so very similar). Beyond the Sword was the second, it focused more on the late game (that was kind of boring before) and had a lot of content but not everything was so great. Warlords was the first expansion to Civ4 and improved some general features of Civ4 but had relatively little content. They are very different games though and are both worth it. Civ4 doesn't show its age so much, it is really enjoyable and many people still consider it the best and deeper game in the franchise.
